Your dictation history

Review past dictations, compare raw and cleaned text, undo Cleanup edits, hear an entry read aloud, report a bad result, or clear your history.

Epilude keeps a history of your dictations on your Mac, so you can copy past text, check what Cleanup changed, and report anything that came out wrong. Nothing in your history is uploaded unless you choose to report an entry, or narrate one with a cloud voice.

Open your history

The Recent dictations card on the Home screen shows your latest entries. Click See all to open the All dictations list, your full history with the same actions on every entry.

Copy and compare

Entries show the app where you started dictating. In supported browsers, the label shows the website hostname instead, with the browser's app icon. If the browser doesn't expose its site through Accessibility, Epilude shows the browser name. Older entries keep their recorded app name; missing website information isn't reconstructed later.

Hover over a row and click Copy to copy its displayed text. The More menu has Copy raw when the original transcript is available, along with Narrate, Report, edit-history, and Delete actions.

This is source context, not confirmation of a successful paste. Insertion may be skipped if focus or permissions change. Epilude stores only the hostname, not the full URL, path, query, or page contents, and does not contact websites to fetch icons.

Each entry expands to show the full text. The quick Copy button copies the text currently shown; Copy raw in the menu copies the transcript as you spoke it, before Cleanup edited it.

To see the difference, choose See what changed. Added and removed words are highlighted inline. Revert to raw keeps the raw transcript instead of the cleaned text, and Undo AI edit / Redo AI edit switch between the two versions. These change only what's stored in your history, never text already inserted in other apps.

Narrate a dictation

Choose Narrate from an entry's More menu to hear it read aloud with Narrator. Narrator reads the text the entry shows, and a dictation you made in Local mode is read with the EP-1 voice on your Mac when it's installed. Otherwise Narrator asks before a cloud voice reads it. Narrating a dictation adds a copy of its text to your Narrator library. Deleting the dictation, or clearing your history, doesn't delete that copy; delete it in Narrator too.

Report a dictation that came out wrong

Choose Report this dictation from an entry's More menu to open a short report form. Describing what you expected is optional. The report includes that dictation's original and cleaned text so Epilude can see what happened and improve quality. No audio is included, and nothing is sent unless you submit the report.

Your stats

The Your stats card next to your history shows total words, time saved, and average words per minute, with your top sources and an activity heatmap. To turn stats off, toggle Settings → General → Track local dictation stats.

Delete your history

Delete a single entry from its menu. To wipe everything, click Clear dictation history in Settings → General. This deletes every saved transcript and resets your activity stats, and it can't be undone.
