How Actions works

Edit selected text or draft at your cursor with Actions, review the result and understand its cloud and plan requirements.

Actions edits selected text using an instruction you choose, type or speak. You review the result before applying it in a supported app.

Choose an edit from the panel

Select text, then click the Actions indicator beside it. Choose a built-in action, run a saved command or type an instruction such as “Shorten this email while keeping the dates.”

The indicator is off by default. Turn on Show Actions beside selected text in Settings → Actions and grant Accessibility permission. Using the panel does not need microphone access.

After processing, compare Original and Result. Choose Replace selection to apply the edit or Copy to paste it yourself. The panel never replaces text automatically.

Give an instruction by voice

Hold your Actions hotkey and speak what you want changed. With text selected, Actions edits that selection. With no selection, it can draft new text at a supported editable cursor.

Voice commands need microphone access. Configure the hotkey in your hotkey settings.

Understand the cloud requirement

Actions needs an internet connection, a signed-in account and an eligible Pro subscription or trial. Pay Once does not include Actions.

Running a command sends the text and your instructions to Epilude's cloud model, even when Dictation is in Local Mode. Selecting text or opening the panel does not upload it. How Epilude handles your data explains the processing boundary.

Check the app you are editing

Selection and replacement depend on the app exposing its text through macOS Accessibility. If the result cannot replace the selection, use Copy and paste it yourself.

You can hide the panel in individual apps from Settings → Actions → Hidden in apps. This does not turn off voice Actions.
