What you should know about how we've designed our pricing:
- Our Pay Once plan is genuinely unlimited. Dictate and record as much as you'd like using our on-device model EP-1. The same applies to our Pro plan, though fair use limits apply to our cloud models (don't worry, they only help prevent abuse, no customer has ever hit the fair use limits).
- We're a small (fully bootstrapped, default alive) company that don't rely on outside investors. That means we can do things our venture capital-backed competitors can't, such as focusing on bringing you the best local models, helping you dictate and record meetings without sharing your data, or hyperscaling with loss leader products that will inevitably be retired.
- We ship fast. Both plans come with continued updates we're making to the app (Pay Once gets a year of updates).

The questions we get most.
Right. The trial starts the moment you create an account, and we don’t ask for a card until you have used both of its allowances: 1,000 dictation words and 10 meeting notes. There is no time limit, and each runs out on its own, so using up your notes leaves your words untouched. If you don’t want to keep going, do nothing. Your settings stay saved on the account in case you come back, and we don’t auto-bill.
Pay Once is everything that runs on your Mac, bought once for $59: unlimited dictation, on-device AI Smart Edits, Vocabulary, Shortcuts, Tone Match, and unlimited meetings recorded, transcribed, and summarized on-device. Pro adds everything that runs in our cloud, billed monthly: faster and more accurate dictation, Actions, cloud meeting summaries that handle long meetings better, 30+ languages with mid-sentence switching, and support for every Mac including Intel.
Yes, that is Pay Once: $59, paid once. It unlocks Local Mode, so dictation and cleanup run on your Mac and your audio never leaves it. It includes one year of updates, covering new features, improvements, and new on-device model versions as they ship in that year, so you are not frozen on the model you bought. After the year you are never forced into a subscription; renew only if you want another year of updates. Cloud Mode is not part of Pay Once; it stays exclusive to Pro.
Both. The one year of updates covers app features and new on-device model versions alike, since we ship model improvements as part of the app. You are not model-locked during your update year.
Yes, all of it, and with no limit on how many. Pay Once records, transcribes, and summarizes meetings entirely on your Mac, and saves each one as a Markdown file. Pro summarizes in our cloud instead, using a larger model that holds up better on long or crowded meetings, but nothing about Notetaker is missing from Pay Once.
Because it runs the speech and cleanup models on your Mac instead of in our cloud, and they need the Neural Engine to keep up with your voice. On-device AI cleanup also needs 16GB of memory. On an Intel Mac, Epilude runs in Cloud mode on Pro instead.
Yes. Cancel from the account settings page or by emailing support@epilude.com. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. No penalty, no exit interview.
